Took picture because I thought the sign said Mortgages, which struck me as odd. But, there you go… Wrong again.
Kinda hard to capture in a snapshot, but the park was filled with more than the overweight white people in line for fish & chips and a beer. They were just one subset of — you name it — race, ethnicity, nationality, language, socioeconomic class, gender, preference — all here. Pretty damn cool, I think.
Framework of light wooden or metal bars, chiefly used as a support for fruit trees or climbing plants.
Biking yesterday, returning home from YWCA, taking Marshall Avenue to avoid the Grand Old Day crowds. Came across the First Trinity Church of God in the City Rib Fest. Several people sitting under a canopy on the boulevard at the intersection with Chatsworth Street. Smoke billowed from a roaster fashioned from an old fuel oil tank. Came back in the car with Liam and we each got a half rack of ribs. Sadly, they were out of coleslaw; we got double helpings of string beans.
Another congregation was inside the church at the time, singing in Spanish, while Liam and I waited in the shade on the steps for our ribs to finish cooking.
